HA: Helen Andreas would slowly materalize into existance from some sort of blue light in a hallway, not realizing where they were or what this place was. They examined their surrounding, this hall looked strangely familiar, as if it was one from Starbase 1 on Earth. But surely that couldn't be it, right? Last thing they remembered was being in their own Dorm at the academy, studying Conn, or Engineering, or whatever and suddenly they are now in this strangely Starbas 1 hall-lookalike. The material used in this hall looked strangely like Tritanium, they would decide to grab their tricorder to scan it as the sounds of beeping and the press of buttons could be heard from it. The scan would soon finish, this doesn't seem to be Federation standard material. Also, what about that blue light, that very much looked like transporter energy stuff, would that mean that somebody transported them here? Like surely no ship could ever breach the defensese in Sector 001, especially since the Federation had been extra careful in protecting it ever since problems like the Borg Attack and also Utopia Planetia being destroyed. Helen would decide to start wondering around the hallway, hopefully they'll find something, or maybe someone. Hopefully that someone wasn't hostile. You really wish you could have a type-1 phaser right about now. 15:28:17

Most doorways have a touchscreen panel beside them, in addition to that, some oddly have handles and physical locks and appear to move in a hinged fashion despite being in a space meant for a sliding door… they also may conveniently trip over a phaser- where did that come from?… eventually they may come across this troll, who appears to have her hand stuck between a wall and a door, vigorously tapping the screen on the side… but the screen appears to be having a malfunction. HA: As Helen continued exploring around the ship, they noticed technologies that seemed to be quite similar to those of the Federation, akin to for example transporter rooms of the 23rd century, of course Starfleet had long moved to a touchscreen based approach with LCARS and was also in a phase of adopting Holographic technologies again. Helen would also notice some of the more odd doors, feeling weirded out by seeing a hinged door on a spaceship, though Starfleet had probably seen weirder stuff, like for example the Voyager probe turning into a giant spaceship threatening Earth unless it got its code from the defunct NASA, boy was that a weird period of the 23rd century. This place could definitely use more sliding doors though. As Helen walked they would end up tripping onto something, after which they would get up and look at it. "Strange, how did this phaser get in here?" The Cadet commented as they picked the phaser and placed it onto the belt on their academy uniform, holstering it tightly, this will probably be useuful in case of any hostile contact. Helen would then continue on, arriving to the scene of... wait a second, who's that person stuck between a wall, and a door that is vigorously tapping the screen on the side, They don't recognize her as any of the humanoids that exist across the milky way galaxy. "Hey, do you need help?" Helen asked the unknown alien humanoid. 15:50:40

HA: "Nice to meet you Sarnen, I'm Helen, from Starfleet Academy" Helen would shake her hand, accidentally taking the gloved and robotic hand clean off Sarnen, Helen would be a little bit suprised but not by much since prosthesis are quite common in the year 2400, and also quite advanced as well. They'd decide they'd mention stuff about the Federation first contact mumbo jambo later, for now they are gonna focus on the solution. Plus Helen doesn't even know if this species is Warp Capable, or any sort of Faster than Light Travel method capable for that matter, so it could be dangerous to introduce them to the wider galaxy since it might have some repercussion. For now focus on the screen repair, perhaps it might help with the door "I'm gonna focus on checking if there is a way to fix the screen, hopefully that will get you unstuck. Sorry about your hand by the way" They would start fiddling and checking with the screen, hopefully this is similar to LCARS in UI and functionality. 16:18:55

HA: Well, Helen thinks. The ui definitely isn't a choice in this, and they definitely don't have a screwdriver at the moment. Helen guesses they could wait until that same thing that made the phaser appear could appear a screwdriver, but that was probably gonna take a while. They decide that the best option is to cut through the door itself with the phaser, after all phasers are versatile tools, though a type-1 only has 8 settings... but if Mr.Scott could cutt through a Steelplast wall with a phaser, then so could they through a door, and well the 8 power settings are just about the power of the phaser, the beam can be easily resized. Remember your training Helen "So, I'm considering just cutting through the door with the phaser, I will probably have to use Setting 6, which is a Light Disruption setting. If I set the beam to cutting then it will only cut through the part of the door the beam touches, is that okay with you?" Helen asked Sarnen 17:14:46

HA: "I don't have any extras" They told Sarnen, plus it would be against Starfleet Regulation 15 which prohibited the transfer of weapons by Federation officers to other races without the approval of the Federation Council. Which had to be repeated multiple times because for example, Captain Kirk had done just that in the past in the 23rd century as in transfer Federation weapons to other people which was also breaking the prime directive as the species was pre-warp. Helen would fiddle with the phasers settings on the small rectangular object with a rounded tapered forward section known as a type-1 phaser until it was clearly set correctly, at which point Helen would press a button on it, firing an orange particle beam at the door as Helen started and continued to cut through the door 17:36:11

HA: Helen is indeed human... well more specifically Augmented Human, and well... there's kind of a stigma against augments in the Federation... due to reason like Augmnent Supremacist and Earth's ex-tyrant Khan Noonien Singh and him being the cause for the Eugenics war of the 1990s and also over the fact that he reappeared into existance in the 23rd century after exiling himself in mid-1990s, then being exiled again and well, Khan then ended up having a deep... and I mean deep need for vengeance against Captain Kirk. Though we are not here for a history lesson for how Khan got killed once and for all by the Enteprise's crew. Also, there's other augments that aren't as bad as Khan... though the Federation might have some trauma against Augments because of Khan basically attempting to commit chaos and murder and even the usage of 23rd century experimental-terraforming technology as a weapon of mass destruction. Which did mean that Augments were pretty much banned from roles like those in Starfleet. Though the situation is somewhat improving for Augments thanks to stuff like the Julian Bashir trial, and heck. They even allowed an augment into the academy in like the 2380s. Though Helen would prefer to keep the fact that they are an augment a secret, just to be secure. Anyway, after a while of slow and precise movement, Sarnen would be free thanks to the phaser cutting through the door. 17:59:09

Usually it would be best to make first contact with a species only after having knowledge of if that species does have the technology for warp, since you never know what sort of problems might arise if an interstellar civilization interacts with a pre-warp civilization, hence it is best to observe passively until they develop warp technology. But this first contact was already awkward enough, and well Sarnen seemed to have knowledge of humans... which is weird becauuse the Federation would've probably known and tried to establish first contact with the Troll civilization. Though the name seemed a little bit strange due to its fantasy genre connotations, but oh well, time to ask the darn question. "So, uh. do Trolls have a method for faster than light travel? I assume you probably have spaceships of some kind since you know what an human is. Have you maybe visited Earth in for example the past?" 18:47:53

Probably… a lot of the ships files need military codes to access, not just captain codes, and a lot of the data is quite corrupted… So that could be possible. And well, there is a a barrier of some sort of energy that surrounds the milky way galaxy that makes it harder to exit or enter it. The Existential Threat of the Borgs was probably already a big enough deal as it is. Though Starfleet is developing technologies to deal with the Borgs and to not repeat the Battle of Wolf 359. they were encountered in 2365 by the USS Enteprise-D, Wolf-359 was in 2366 in which 40 Starfleet vessels fought a Borg Cube, leading to a disaster in which only the USS Hood, an Excelsior-Class survived while the Cube was still alive "Maybe there's a way to hack through the military codes to access alongside a way to uncorrupt the data? I'm not sure. This is an entirely new ship to me" 19:33:02
