You’ve gotta plan your form to one where you can defend yourself until you can knock someone off guard, then go offensive. 22:37:43

The goal would be to sort of move att the right time to switch to the other leg without tripping on yourself. 22:45:13

It’s important to have when someones trying to throw you off- if you are good with balancing on one leg you could quickly rebalance yourself if you are struck with an attack that tries to unbalance you. But I suppose as long as you keep both your feet on the ground you should be fine… but that means you’re going to have to strike and block rather quickly to avoid situations like that… in the end a pentadent is what? A trident with more prongs? A trident is basically just a pointy pole… but it would definitely give you more defense if you arent as fast to block with a thin staff… So, instead of focusing on blocking with the tip of the staff, focus on using its body, as that’ll give you a wider range of defense. 22:55:46

As long as you can switch from one leg to the other to rebalance yourself you should be fine to take any defensive forms you’d like- balance is a big part of defense. To strongly stand your ground and charge forward as opposed to like, staying in one spot and eventually bring forced to move in a way you dont want to. You essentially need to be able to guide a fight how you want it to go. 23:05:46
